Head Coach Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coaching:
As the Elite Team Head Coach, this individual is responsible for all aspects of the varsity program.
- Assisting Director of Soccer Program:
- Assisting the Director of Soccer Program in hiring assistant coach.
- Supervising varsity team.
- Assisting the Director of Soccer Program as required.
- Recruiting students
Assisting Director of Soccer Program to recruit students for all program teams.
- Conducting practices
Responsible for creating the practice plan each day and informing students of said plan.
- Teaching and Academic monitoring
- Teaching 1 or 2 classes followed by school credit requirements.
- You are responsible for keeping a close watch on all program players’ academic status to ensure that they are in line to meet NCAA requirements.
- If needed, support students in their academic performance.
- Team performance
- Create a positive and conducive environment for player and team growth.
- Take an active role in the disciplinary process for any violations of the student code of conduct.
- Responsible for expressing issues to the parents of students in question of any violations.
- Team athletic performance
Implement your own system based on the talent that you have on the team.
Responsible for scheduling games and/or events against other teams.
- Understanding “Trophy Oriented” mindset. And realize this idea with AD and president.
- Transport team to all games and competitions.
Also, in charge of meals for any extended trips.
Teacher responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Adherence to the hours of employment per the contract when classes are being held;
- Fostering a positive classroom climate for students.
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and which adhere to all PSA academic policies and procedures;
- Instruct and monitor students in the appropriate usage of learning materials and equipment;
- Analyze information acquired from student assessments to adjust teaching strategies;
- Prepare required reports on students and activities;
- Attend and participate in departmental, school, and parent meetings;
- Follow curriculum guidelines and actively collaborate with colleagues on all curriculum mapping activities;
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, Dean of Academics, the Administration, and parents regarding student progress;
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities;
- Provide appropriate levels of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities;
- Assign grades for each form of student assessment as well as submit grades for progress reports and report cards within required deadlines;
- Demonstrate skills in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds;
- Participate in all admissions-related activities as required;
- Encourage parent and community involvement;
- Obtain information for parents when requested,
- Promptly respond to all forms of communication in a timely manner;
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations as directed by the administration;
- To maintain high standards of professional behavior towards colleagues, students and parents;
- Undertake administrative and instructional duties as assigned by administration.
